Mix 96: What Will Aylesbury’s MP Be Doing When Parliament Shuts Down?

This morning, Mix 96 news is featuring an interview with David Lidington, in which he describes how he tries to clear down his casework towards the end of Parliament and prepares for the beginning of the General Election campaign.

What isn’t mentioned, but may be of interest, is that even though Parliament is dissolved, his ministerial responsibilities continue until a new government is formed and new ministers are appointed. This means he can still be called upon to represent the UK internationally, attend meetings, and deal with any European issues that may arise.

Parts of the interview are published here and and can be heard during the Mix 96 news.
